the web entangled,
wrapped me tight and
squeezed my identity
into its dark belly---
constriction.
The web covered my eyes,
left me hung up
on religion,
sexual norms,
misogyny and racism---
Southern culture.
But now,
a web of connections,
of people I choose,
of people I love,
friends and family---
that web supports me.
